The skin is the largest organ in the human body, but you probably spend more time thinking about your physical health than your skin. Having a structured body care routine that keeps your skin healthy, fresh, and nourished is about much more than just showering regularly. A body care routine provides protection against infections and diseases, as well as a healthy glow for your skin. Choosing the right body care products is the first step in creating a daily routine.

Essential steps to creating a proper body care routine
Finding and sticking to the perfect routine is a big feat, but knowing the basic steps will make it a breeze. Body care encompasses a multitude of different steps and products, from body serums and hair removal creams to dry brushing and foot masks, but these five steps should be the foundation of any body care routine.
Clean
If you already have a consistent facial skin care routine, you probably won't be surprised to see the first step. No matter what part of your body you're dealing with, the best way to start is with a thorough cleansing. Use a cleanser specifically designed for your body—don't expect your face cleanser to be perfect for this.
Look for a gentle body wash that won't irritate or dry out your skin. If you suffer from acne, look for a body wash with ingredients like salicylic acid.
Remove rough skin
Exfoliating your body may seem like a daunting task, but with the right tools, it's not. Of course, you shouldn't overexfoliate your skin and cause irritation, but you should do it regularly enough to remove dead skin cells.
Everyone's skin can withstand different levels of exfoliation, but remember that the skin on your body is more tolerant and resistant to exfoliation than the skin on your face.
Exfoliate your body two or three times a week, incorporating an exfoliant into your routine. Gently massage the exfoliant into your skin, not forgetting elbows, knees and heels, which have rough areas, which we recommend exfoliating extra.
Moisturize
Moisturize your body from head to toe. Whether you’re cleansing, exfoliating, or waxing, one thing you have in common is that you need to moisturize afterward. While your skin is still damp right after a shower, it’s the perfect time to do it. Apply moisturizer or lotion to your body from neck to toe, allowing it to absorb before getting dressed. If you have dry skin or need extra hydration, also use a body oil to lock in moisture.
